Project Details
The Government of Peoples Republic of Bangladesh has applied for financing from Asian Development Bank toward the project cost of 13KV Grid Network Development Project in Eastern Region. Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Limited, the executing agency of the Project intends employ Environmental Monitoring for preparation and review of Environmental Monitoring Report and Social Safeguard Monitoring Report according to the guidelines of ADB.
ADB is helping Bangladesh boost its power supply to reduce the outages and shortages that are crippling the economy. The first tranche of the program will add 235 megawatts to the system by converting four single cycle, gas-fired power plants into more efficient combined cycle plants at Khulna, Baghabari, Sylhet, and Shahjibazar. It will also build transmission lines and substations.
PGCB is the implementing agency for 132 kV Grid Network Development Project in Eastern Region under the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources.
